From the outset, it was decided that Couriergram should not only replace the old GPO service, but improve on it. One thing lacking in the old GPO service was a guaranteed delivery time. Couriergram started its service with a guaranteed two hour delivery, anywhere in the UK. This was achieved by Couriergram establishing a network of couriers. The network is now some 2000 strong. This guarantee continues today.
